Lens Implants | Accommodating Lens | Crystalens HD®
The Crystalens HD® is an accommodative lens. It uses the natural focusing ability of the eye and is designed to flex, change position and shape, with eye muscle movement. There is an eye-muscle training period to get the best vision, but the end result is functional vision. It has excellent distance and intermediate vision, and reasonable near vision.
You may be a candidate for Crystalens HD if you have a visually significant cataract and are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
- Colors seem yellowish
- Sensitivity to light, such as a halo or glare
- Difficulty seeing at night
- Double vision in one eye
- Need a brighter light to read
- Vision is blurry
Crystalens HD produces a single image consistent with normal vision, meaning you do not need to neuroadapt to viewing multiple images.
There is little need to tolerate or adjust to high levels of halos and glare often associated with multifocal IOLs. It can reduce or eliminate glasses for most activities including: reading a book, working on the computer, and driving a car.
