Refractive surgery has been performed at Washington University for many years. Our goal is to provide academic excellence with a personal touch. To that end, all patients are evaluated, treated, and cared for postoperatively by one of the physicians listed below, depending on your choice of office locations.

Anjali K. Pathak, M.D. received an undergraduate degree with honors and her medical degree from West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia. She completed a transitional internship in internal medicine at Shadyside Hospital –University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and a residency in ophthalmology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Through a clinical fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Pathak completed advanced training in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery.
Dr. Pathak’s clinical practice encompasses the treatment of corneal diseases, refractive surgery, and general ophthalmology. She also offers Intralase®, one of the newer technologies in refractive surgery. This leading-edge technology is a used to create the corneal flap during LASIK.
She also has a special interest in multifocal (ReStor® and Rezoom®) and accommodating intraocular lens implants (Crystalens®) used for the treatment of cataracts and presbyopia. In addition, Dr. Pathak is employing new techniques in cornea transplant surgery for the treatment of corneal diseases, such as Descemet's Stripping Endokeratoplasty (DSEK) and lamellar keratoplasty.
Dr. Pathak is also involved in resident education on a national level through the Harvard Education Program.
She sees patients at the Refractive Surgery Center in West County for corneal disease, cataract and implant surgery, corneal surgery and transplantation, and laser vision correction including LASIK, LASEK, PRK, and PTK.

Linda M. Tsai, M.D.

Linda M. Tsai, M.D. has been in practice performing refractive surgery and LASIK in the St. Louis area since 1999.
With a high-volume cataract practice, her surgical specialty focuses on the newer refractive procedures such as multifocal intraocular lens implants (ReStor® and Rezoom®), accommodating intraocular lens implants (Crystalens®), and toric intraocular lens implants (Acrosof®).
In addition, Dr. Tsai provides comprehensive eye care for all medical diseases as well as contact lens fitting.
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Dr. Tsai graduated from the Honors Program in Medical Education at Northwestern University with a medical degree, and two undergraduate degrees in biochemistry and Asian studies. She completed a year of internal medicine at Northwestern's McGaw Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois and completed a year of advanced training at the National Eye Institute in Bethesda, Maryland as a Howard Hughes Research Fellow.
Dr. Tsai currently serves on the Board of Missouri Society of Eye Physicians & Surgeons. She is also the national chair of the comprehensive ophthalmology section of the Self-Assessment Committee for the American Academy of Ophthalmology and serves as an associate examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology.
She sees patients at the West County office and at the Center for Advance Medicine, located at the Washington University Kingshighway campus.
